Everything about calling PayPal UK from abroad
Where to find the number on PayPal's site
PayPal UK's Contact Us page leads with chat and help topics. The phone number appears only after you choose Call us, then either log in or pick call us as guest, then press Call us again. The instructions that open list a general enquiries line and, under additional information, the freephone 0800 358 7911.
The landline condition
PayPal words it plainly: the freephone is "available from local landline only", and mobile callers should use the local rate number it lists. So PayPal itself treats 0800 358 7911 as a number for local landlines. Losali places calls through a telecom carrier rather than a mobile network, but PayPal says nothing about calls made that way, so keep its other routes in mind.
What to sort out before you call
PayPal says it will only discuss account information with the account holder, and that it does not disclose account details to non-account holders. Logging in before you call is what PayPal calls faster service; the guest route is there if you cannot log in. Its help topics cover holds, declines, refunds and balance, disputes and chargebacks, account limitations, PayPal Credit and Pay in 3.
- Call as the account holder: PayPal will not discuss the account with anyone else.
- Log in first if you can.
- Note the date, amount and other party for the payment in question.
- For a dispute, note the seller's name and what you have already tried.
Calling from outside the UK
For callers outside the UK, PayPal gives +44 203 901 7000 and warns that charges may apply depending on your phone provider. If you would rather try the freephone, Losali is an independent dialler that runs in a web browser: your call goes over the internet and Losali's telecom carrier connects it to 0800 358 7911, with no app or UK SIM to sort out. Chat and PayPal Assistant remain the options PayPal puts first.
What kind of number is this?
Freephone 0800 / 0808. Free to call from inside the UK. Losali shows the price before the call starts.
