Everything about calling SunLife from abroad
What 0800 008 6060 is for
On its contact page, SunLife says that if you would just like to get in touch and are happy to be passed to the right team, you call 0800 008 6060. Its other pages give the same number for changes to the Guaranteed Over 50 Plan, SunLife Insurance, Easycover and the 50 plus protector, for questions about when payments are due or a missed payment, for a new Direct Debit, and for welcome gift questions, where SunLife says you call it free. For complaints, SunLife calls it its UK call centre on Freephone. SunLife prints no time zone with its hours.
Making a claim after a death
For a Guaranteed Over 50 Plan, SunLife takes claims on the same line. It asks the person claiming to confirm that the death has been registered and the death certificate received, to give the certificate's entry number and registration district, and to confirm that the death occurred on the UK mainland. You can also claim online with SunLife's claim form, or by post with the original death certificate, the policyholder's name and date of birth, your own name, the bank account number and sort code for the payment, and a copy of the will if there is one. If the plan has the Funeral Benefit Option, that part goes to the funeral provider named in the welcome pack; SunLife says to call 0800 008 6060 if you are not sure which one.
Plans with their own teams
Not every SunLife product goes through this line. SunLife lists a separate customer service team for the Guaranteed Inheritance Plan, and says that some products come from partners you call directly: funeral plans paid in one go, the My Smarter ISA, Family Life Insurance and travel insurance. Their numbers are on SunLife's making changes and contact pages.
Calling SunLife from abroad
0800 008 6060 is a UK freephone number, and from a foreign network it may not connect, depending on your operator. Right under it, SunLife's contact page prints a number for callers overseas, +44 (0) 1733 79 33 44.
What Losali does with this line
Losali is an independent dialler that works in a web browser. Your call travels over the internet and Losali's telecom carrier connects it to 0800 008 6060 in the UK, so the network you are on only carries data. There is no app to install and no UK SIM card to buy. You need a browser, a microphone and a stable connection.

- For a claim: the death certificate entry number and registration district.
- For a claim by post: the original death certificate and the bank details for the payment.
