Who Virgin Money is, and which number is yours
Virgin Money is a UK bank, now part of Nationwide, with current accounts, savings, credit cards, loans and insurance. Its contact pages split by product, and current accounts split again by sort code. If your sort code starts 05 or 82 (M Plus, Club M, M Account or Private current accounts), your line is 0800 121 7365. If it starts 08 (Essential or former Northern Rock accounts, opened before 20 October 2019), customer service is on a 0345 number and lost or stolen debit cards go to 0800 012 1512. Credit cards have their own lines: 0800 011 3210 for Virgin Money cards and 0800 085 3210 for Virgin Atlantic cards.
Why you might ring Virgin Money from abroad
The urgent case is a card lost or stolen on a trip, and every one of the four numbers on this page takes those reports 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The other is a question about your current account while you are away, which Virgin Money's customer service answers on 0800 121 7365 from Monday to Saturday, 7am to 9pm, and on Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
Why a UK 0800 number is awkward from a foreign line
Virgin Money's own note says 0800 numbers are free from UK landlines and personal mobile phones. That is a UK rule. From a foreign SIM or a hotel phone, a UK 0800 number may not connect, depending on your operator. Virgin Money also prints "From outside UK" numbers next to most lines, and does not say what its 0800 lines cost from abroad.

Lost or stolen cards are taken around the clock on all four lines. Credit card customer service is open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 8pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. For a debit card on a 05 or 82 account, Virgin Money says the quickest route is its Mobile Banking app, under My profile and Manage your cards, where you can cancel the card and order a new one in under 30 seconds. Current account and credit card customers can also chat online with Virgin Money's team.
