Western Union's UK contact page gives a single Customer Care line for any enquiry or concern, printed as a pair: a +44 number and the freephone 0800 833 833. English-speaking staff are listed as available 24x7. Polish is offered Monday to Saturday, 9am to 9pm, and Western Union gives that time as EET. For retail-related enquiries, the page sends you to the agent location instead.
Cancelling a transfer
Western Union says a transfer can be cancelled only while the receiver has not collected it. Money sent to a bank account can be cancelled only if the receiver's bank has not completed it. For a refund, call Customer Care, or go back to the agent if you sent the money in person. How much comes back, the amount sent, the fee or both, depends on the service you chose and the reason for cancelling, and Western Union says refunds typically take up to 10 business days once completed.

- Say whether you paid online, in the app or at an agent.
- If you suspect a scam, say so at once: cancelling depends on the money not yet being collected.
Checking a transfer yourself
You may not need to call at all. Western Union says a sender can check a transfer's status at any time in the history section of their profile, and a receiver can track it online with the MTCN printed on the receipt. The contact page also offers chat with a Customer Care representative. If a complaint is not resolved, Western Union points you to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
